Park City is again letting big box retailers take advantage of them by letting in a huge Super Walmart. Does park City need a Super Walmart? Do you think the once small mining town holds to its character in the slightest by allowing the super store accompanied by a 72 foot sign into their midst? The impact fee that the store was willing to pay topped 145,000 dollars. This was a seeming victory for the planning department of Park City, whereas I see it as a huge disapointing loss. The amount of impact that that store would have not only on roads but the local economy, schools, and revenue generation would far surpass a Walmart. Park City has a possition of character and asthetics that would disqualify of demand a lot more from businesses than what they are allowing the walmart squeek in by.
